Healing, Recovering, Transforming, Leading, Evolving, Expanding, Discovering your own authenticity.  Stepping into your own empowerment.

Whatever life transition brought you to this place we are ready to assist you with your journey and are grateful to have the opportunity to work with you. You are the most important part of therapy.  Your culture. Your story. Your possibilities. All of these things, and many more, shape who you are and how you move in the world.  Whether things are going well and you find yourself eager for an outlet to promote your continued self-growth or challenges seem overwhelming and you are yearning for a space to be supported, you are welcome here. Instead of a structure that makes assumptions about who you are and where you are going, we believe in therapy that places you at the center. We are committed to helping you have a more satisfying life.  No matter what has happened in your past. No matter where you come from. No matter what your dreams are. You matter.

Don’t let time or financial restrictions stand in the way. A investment in counseling is an investment in a better future.  We look forward to connecting with you.

ZENOBIA LEE-BRIGGS, MA LPC, ACS

Director, Licensed Professional Counselor, School Counselor

I understand firsthand the hard work of therapy and chose this profession because I too have suffered and have been on a healing journey. I believe people have stories not illnesses or imbalances. I provide the space to explore the story, redefine it, and create a more fulfilling one.   I help my clients to gain awareness of their personal strengths and find the courage to take an honest look at their personal challenges and am committed to helping my clients have a more satisfying life.

I believe that every person has the innate ability to move toward health and healing and possess an authentic ability to see people’s strengths while guiding the therapeutic process toward this goal. My approach is client centered, practical, genuine, compassionate, and thought provoking.  I have gained particular experience and interest in serving the unique needs of individuals dealing with trauma and the effects of addiction including the intricacies of maintaining long term recovery in a 12 step program who may be now dealing with secondary addictions. Additionally, I have significant experience working with issues related to grief, advanced illness and end of life issues.

 Intake Coordinator, Counselor, Licensed Minister

My approach to psychotherapy is centered around you. Each person is unique, therefore I collaborate to identify goals, explore your needs and promote growth, empowerment and lasting change. I approach therapy in a nonjudgmental fashion. My approach incorporates the psychological, physical and spiritual needs of the client. Together we can create a safe and inviting atmosphere for you to tell your story and be heard. I work with individuals from varying backgrounds and with different presenting needs. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, marriage and family, grief and loss, substance abuse and other addictive behaviors.  I can assist you in self-exploration at a level of your desire to help you understand how past and present experiences impact your current life. This is therapy that can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself so you can live a healthier, more satisfying life.

Licensed Professional Counselor

Many people think about the cost of therapy.  But what about the cost of not doing therapy? What are the costs of being in an unhealthy relationship? Or the costs of persistent medical issues that may be related to stress or misguided coping skills? What is the cost of low self-esteem and negative feelings about yourself? What is the cost of instant gratification used for self- soothing? We all need a helping hand, an open mind, and a listening ear from time to time. People can get stuck in painful emotional states and relationship patterns, for all kinds of reasons.  My intention is to offer a safe place to explore the nature of persistent obstacles which leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed, or stuck.
We will look at your style of relating to others, habits and patterns formed throughout the years, as a way to gain insight into who you are and where you would like to be. We will explore the significant relationships in your life (family of origin, romantic, friendships) as well as your relationship with yourself (your emotions, how you handle and/or address conflict, anxiety, stress, sadness).
My goal is to assist you in feeling more hopeful, healthy, and happy as they move through your life fully integrated.  It is my honor to be able to work with you toward making lasting changes in your relationships, feeling more connected to your partner and others, and having a safe place to discover more aspects of the emerging you.

Job Title

“When we are no longer able to change a situation…we are challenged to change ourselves.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

If you are struggling right now - this is your call to a more authentic, liberated existence.

My approach to therapy is naturalistic and holistic. I utilize Rogerian/Humanistic techniques and genuinely believe healing and self-actualization are both possible *under the right conditions.* Mine is a warm, highly attuned presence. Although I am the therapist, you as the client, are the expert in your own experience, and you hold the key to personal growth, empowerment, and uncovering your own solutions. I am committed to listening and reflecting back your strengths.

I work with individuals, couples, and groups primarily around self-acceptance, achieving goals, and gaining self-confidence. I hope to assist you in fulfilling your potential and finding purpose and meaning in life. I provide an opportunity for people to grow in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and nurturing environment. This work helps to heal trauma/ PTSD, depression, low self-esteem, addictions and anxiety. I also welcome those who simply want the added flexibility good therapy can achieve, enabling them to live fuller, richer, happier lives.

I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions you may have about my approach and/or experience. I always view the first few sessions as a mutual “try out” where we can both feel whether we are the right match. So, while I do prefer long-term commitments and deeper work, you are not locked into anything before you are ready!

MARIEL FURSTNER, MSW, LSW

Licensed Therapist

As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I strive to create a safe and judgment-free space for my client’s therapeutic experience. I am a Licensed Social Worker and completed my master’s program with a concentration in working with Hispanic families. I conduct sessions in English, Spanish, or a mix of both languages. Driven by my passion to aid clients through their therapy journey, I provide a safe space to express feelings and life experiences. I integrate different perspectives and modalities of treatment based on your specific needs. Some of those forms of treatment could include, but aren’t limited to, using strengths perspectives, a solution-based approach, analyzing attachment styles, mindfulness strategies, and emotionally or somatically focused approaches. In our sessions, we will identify the change you wish to see in your life, set goals, and create a path towards achieving them. The plan is custom-tailored to you and your needs using a holistic approach. There are many aspects of what makes you who you are, so we explore the connections between your mind, body, heart, and spirit. During your session, I encourage you to share your experiences with social, spiritual, and cultural practices/beliefs so that we integrate them into your customized plan. Together, we can work towards the change you seek. While working in the field of hospice, I supported clients and their families as they faced the many challenges that manifest at the end of life. I also have experience working with homebound seniors and co-facilitating group therapy with neurodivergent clients. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ and alternative lifestyle communities. Walking the path toward change can seem daunting, but I would be honored to help and walk by your side

Advanced Yoga Teacher Certification

My approach to healing is interdisciplinary and multidimensional. I believe that when we entrust ourself to another to help facilitate our healing journey, we ought to be offered a variety of choices that address the physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual dimensions of our being. Psychotherapy, yoga, breathwork, meditation guided imagery, and energy healing are among the tool that I use to meet each of my clients unique needs & goals.

My approach to psychotherapy is radically relational, for I believe it is the quality of the relationship between therapist & client that heals. I am influenced by relational psychoanalysis, Jungian psychoanalysis, Existential psychotherapy, Feminist & multicultural models. In short, your unique history and experience is my greatest interest, as opposed to some abstract idea of "Normal" or "Healthy"

I'm drawn to working with clients that are ready to think outside of the box, revision their lives, and experience greater meaning and purpose.  I enjoy creating space for individuals to explore part of themselves they might hide from the world due to stigma, racism, sexism, trauma, abuse, and alienation. To be seen is to heal, and in healing there is power and freedom.

Position/Role

"Come as you are"-That is the motto I always use when working with my clients. There is a common belief that psychotherapy is for those of a certain socio-economic background. However, I am here to say that therapy is an amazing tool we all can utilize and benefit from. Along with our informal social supports like family and friends, sometimes, we need formal support - this is where I come in.
My professional experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work with a diverse population, which I welcomed. I have worked with children, adults, and individuals with special needs all ranging between the ages of 5 and 75. As a licensed health care provider, I assist individuals under my care, with meeting the challenges that stifle one's mental health, safety, and/or overall well-being. I provide services to assist individuals with maximizing their potential. I encourage them to do so, while addressing self-care and wellness needs, in an
environment conducive to their individual growth and success. Some of my preferred evidence-based treatment interventions include, but are not limited to,
Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing- informed therapy (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Humanistic therapy. Some of my specialties include working with those with self-esteem issues, identity issues, family conflict, young adult development, suicidal ideation, women's issues, men's issues, anxiety, stress, and depression. Furthermore, I refer to myself as an eclectic therapist by using evidence-based treatment interventions as a model to fit my clients' treatment goals.
To conclude, I am here to validate you, be your cheerleader, and assist you with your corrective experience by guiding you to your own discovery.

HOLISTIC HEALTH & WELLNESS SERVICES

20190327225119-ENT-Events-Categories-Ins

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Excellent Therapist. Zenobia offers practical solutions and provides tools to help navigate through life’s challenges. She is very personable and genuine. I highly recommend her!!

Kalia R.

The work I have done with Zenobia over this past year has dramatically improved my life. From inner child work, to boundary setting and self actualization, every step of every process she has been a tremendous guide to my success. I will continue to see her and utilize the skills she has helped me to develop. Her professionalism and abilities go beyond what I would have expected when I first started. I recommend her to anyone I meet looking for talk therapy and counseling.

Just had my first session at Embracing HHR. I have to admit that they are really good at peeling back the layers of an onion. Very loving and understanding people. Made me feel comfortable within minutes and I am actually looking forward to  my next session. I am not the greatest at communicating my own feelings, but my counselor was excellent at getting it out of me. I highly recommend that you reach out to them for your needs. You have to take the first step, they can help you the rest of the way.

Zenobia is awesome! After the very first meeting, I left hopeful and optimistic about our experience. I was pretty nervous (not knowing what to expect) but Zenobia's down-to-earth demeanor and positivity helped me open up. She's an excellent listener, and her sense of humor helped break the ice and made me feel more comfortable about sharing. Her training and abilities allowed us to jump right in and dig deep, so I feel I'm getting my money's worth in a short period of time. I leave her office feeling hopeful and like we are working toward a goal. Everyone needs a Zenobia in their lives! Highly recommend!
